My Medifast Diet Review


I hope that this Medifast Diet review is helpful to you. Of course it is my experience and it may differ from your own, but I believe it is as completely accurate as possible. I believe in the Medifast Diet strongly, and I’d like for you to become a believer too. Life is too short for us not to realize our goals and dreams.

I am probably a bit different from most Medifast users in that I didn’t start with a lot of weight to lose, just 25 lbs. I am physically fit and go to the gym 4-5 times a week, mostly for weight training. I’ve been doing this consistently for about 2 years.

The thing is, when you are trying to add muscle through weight training you need to have a calorie surplus. Since you are eating more than your body needs to add muscle one side effect is that you also add fat. And after I passed my 40th birthday this became even more of a problem.

In the past I would design my own diet when I became too overweight. It was similar to the Medifast Diet in that it was low carb, low fat and high protein. The thing is it takes A LOT of time to create your own menus and track your nutrient intake. Not to mention the cost at the grocery store. There had to be a better way I thought.

I came across the Medifast Diet and I thought wow, this is just what I need! No counting calories or tracking food intake or worrying about what I need to make for the days meals. The Medifast Diet was perfect for my needs and goals. Now the only question was how edible would the Medifast foods be?

I started with the mens two week starter variety pack. This pack comes with three flavors of shakes, two flavors of oatmeal, two soups, two flavors of bars and banana pudding. Honestly, everything tasted great. I wasn’t too crazy about the peach oatmeal or the tomato soup, but that is just my preference. For diet food the Medifast foods were really good.

I lost 8 lbs in the first two weeks of Medifast which was amazing. I also had plenty of energy for my workouts and after the initial 4 days most of my hunger pangs went away. I am amazed with what Medifast can do, even if you only want to lose a small amount of weight. I am sure if you need to lose more this is the program for you.

I am currently back to adding muscle, but now I am also eating cleaner thanks to Medifast and I hope the fat will stay away. In any case I will be going back to the full Medifast Diet in September in preparation for a trip to the beautiful beaches of Thailand. I will track that experience fully for you so stay tuned!
